Assembled or partly disassembled loading
SKD means semi-knocked-down: equipment is shipped partly disassembled. This can change the space required, but the loading plan depends on tractor dimensions, tyres, attachments, packaging and safe securing. Confirm the assembly work, tools and suitable local technical support needed before choosing this method.
Assembled loading can reduce reassembly work after arrival. Container type, door clearance, transport preparation and unloading arrangements still need to be confirmed. There is no single container capacity that applies to every tractor model or mixed order.
What the freight quotation should cover
- Tractor models, quantities and included implements or spare parts.
- Assembled or SKD preparation and an itemised packing list.
- 20-foot and 40-foot container options where appropriate.
- Destination port, shipment terms, quotation validity and estimated schedule.
- Which freight, insurance, port, clearance and inland transport costs are included or excluded.
For delivery beyond Mombasa, state the final town, such as Nairobi, Nakuru, Eldoret or Kisumu. Inland transport and unloading should be planned separately unless explicitly included in the quotation. Confirm current import requirements and charges with your appointed clearing agent before shipment.
